PhD Student, Mechanical Engineering Department, Rochester Institute of Technology, NY, US
Hello! I’m Zahra, a Ph.D. student in Mechanical Engineering at Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT). I hold a master’s degree in Mechatronics and a bachelor’s degree in Control Engineering, both from the Electrical Engineering Department at Amirkabir University of Technology (Tehran Polytechnic).
I am passionate about advancing artificial intelligence and machine learning, with a particular emphasis on developing safe, efficient, and robust deep reinforcement learning algorithms for autonomous systems and robotics control. My research focuses on designing algorithms that enable reliable decision-making in dynamic environments, to ensure safety and scalability for real-world applications such as robotic navigation, manipulation, and autonomous vehicles. I explore the use of optimal transport theory to enhance the stability, sample efficiency, and generalization of reinforcement learning models, to address challenges like reward shaping, exploration strategies, and robustness to uncertainties.
If you have any questions about my work or are interested in discussing research, please feel free to reach out!
